From personal experience I know that the best time to have a life coach by your side is during times of major transition. I can hardly think of a more transitional or transformational time in a woman’s life than being pregnant and becoming a new mom.
Having worked with mothers and infants for 15 years I understand that you might be filled with questions and doubts, excitement and wonder, hopes and even worries of what may lie ahead. I also understand the emotional complexities that can come with this amazing time in your life.
As much as I recommend gaining all the knowledge you can to be prepared, there are so many how-to books on parenting available, you could read nonstop for nine months and still not know what’s going to be right for you personally. Only you have those answers. It may take a lot of thoughtful questions to come up with what really feels right for you but you do have the answers!
Although years of experience have left me with plenty of practical knowledge to impart, I’m not here to tell you what you should do, or how you should do it. I’m here to help you find your own truth. I’m here to help you realize what you innately know; that you can do this and be amazing at it. I want you to be able to feel it in your bones that you’re up for this job and no one knows better what is right for you and your baby than you do.
Parenthood is a journey that could be so much kinder if we skipped the self-doubt and just did what we knew in our hearts to be right. No one will love or know your baby better than you and no one else could possibly know how to better mother your baby.
I will provide a caring, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your deepest feelings, questions and hopes. I will help you to sort through the wellspring of emotion that so much change can bring. You will discover who you are now and who you want to become in the future; you may have noticed how your personal relationships haved changed and want to explore what that means to you; you will learn to rediscover and appreciate your changing body; brainstorm on solutions that work for your family, and take a few minutes a week to reconnect with yourself and what you need to feel fulfilled as a person. Creating some balance in your life where it may feel out of control.
I wish that every new mom could have a personal coach to help them through the beginning, because I know the stress of seeming to “have it all under control” when you really feel like you might be losing it. To just have someone there to hear you without them giving you their opinion or judging you. Someone to boost you up and remind you of the wonder and joy that makes motherhood magical. I can’t be there to coach every new mom, but I do give the utmost care and attention to the well-being of mothers who are my clients.
After our session if you have any questions about feeding, poop, sleep, rashes, nipples, fussiness, puking or whatever else you can think of, no matter how “strange or silly” I would be happy to try and answer them for you.
